Its been a really busy week again, but we are very pleased to announce CharityKick’s partnership to #GivingTuesday.
For those of you not familiar with it, GivingTuesday is the day for giving that follows Black Friday and Cyber Monday. We are very happy to be a part of such a great idea and in the spirit of our site, dare all Black Friday shoppers to give to a good cause on the 27th of November, GivingTuesday. We invite as many organizations as possible to join this movement started by (RED), 92nd St Y, American Red Cross, Global Giving, Kiva, and the Salvation Army, but also Groupon, JP Morgan Chase, Microsoft, Skype, Sony and Unilever. We got a warm welcome from Henry Timms Deputy Executive Director at 92nd St Y and co-founder of #GivingTuesday: “We’re pleased to have CharityKick daring to give on #GivingTuesday”, they are a great group with a great goal!
On another note, we’ve also started a service through Raise5! Helping people start a dare on CharityKick by designing a dare poster to all who donate $5 to Doctors Without Borders. If you haven’t heard of Raise5, they’re also a great group, check it out! Raise5 is a micro-service donation platform, where people can volunteer their skills for a cause and essentially turn buyers into donors. After speaking to Mike Tang, their co-founder, we decided to follow his advice and list a service as well as try out a few for ourselves. We didn’t only get great results, this also allowed us to connect with like-minded professionals, which proved to be a goldmine in itself!
Looking forward to updating you on our progress next week!
