The last few weeks have gone past at an alarming pace, the election taking place in the midst of a natural disaster being the main culprit, it is good to see celebrities on their toes when disaster strikes. We’ve compiled below a few examples we thought deserved a mention!
Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, Sting, Billy Joel and Christina Aguilera came together for the NBC Coming Together telethon last Friday, donating collected funds to the American Red Cross’ Sandy relief efforts. They managed to reach almost $23M; conjuring up a few more celebrities like Kevin Bacon, Whoopi Goldberg and even Late Night host Jimmy Fallon. Congratulations!
Lady Gaga having grown up in New York made a considerable donation of $1M with kind words of support on her Little Monsters blog. And the teams have rallied up as the Mets, Giants, and Knicks list various auctions on CharityBuzz for the company’s Support After Sandy campaign.
